Does Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4 support suspend or hibernate functionality?
Resolution:
In short, no. Software Suspend is disabled in the kernel configuration because the kernel infrastructure required to make it work properly is not there. Red Hat would suggest that Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5 is used if suspend or hibernate functionality is a requirement.
