Issue:
How do I add an iSCSI target during Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5 installation using local media?
Resolution:

When performing a Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5 installation using the CD/DVD media, clicking the box advanced storage will prompt to configure the network and then return to the disk selection screen without letting the user specify the iSCSI target.

This is currently a known issue and the suggested workaround is as follows:

  1. Boot with askmethod.
  2. On the screen titled Installation Method select NFS image and proceed until the screen NFS Setup
  3. Configure the network as prompted
  4. When you reach the screen that asks for the NFS host and directory, click Back three times until Installation Method is shown. Then select Local CDROM.
  5. Adding the iSCSI target will now work.
