Issue:
How do I change the colors scheme in the command terminal?
Resolution:
Red Hat Enterprise Linux uses the GNOME Terminal V2.5 as its default terminal and the default color scheme is dark text on a white background. This color scheme is different form older Linux distributions from Red Hat. Some people prefer the older look of light text on a dark background or want a complete custom color scheme for their terminal.

The GONME terminal is easily customized for whatever look you want. To do so, open the "current profile" option, under the "edit" menu, and select the "Colors" tab. From here you can change the background/text colors and the palette colors. There are several built-in schemes to choose from or you can make your own scheme by clicking on a color and changing it to whatever you like.

There are also some advanced background options you can implement by selecting the "Effects" tab. Here you can choose an image to use as a background or make the background transparent.

For additional information see the GNOME Terminal V2.5 documentation by pressing <F1> while in the terminal.
