Issue:
Why does fence_ilo not work properly with my ilo2 card on itanium?
Resolution:
Please verify the version of the ilo2 card. On Itanium, most ilo2 controllers are of a different type of ilo2, called ilo2mp, which is not the same protocol and not the same HTTPS interface as ilo2 on Intel and AMD based machines. Please notice that the firmware versions of ilo2MP are also different to the versions of ilo2. The ilo2MP cards will not properly work with fence_ilo. On the other hand most ilo2mp interfaces are also capable of IPMI, therefore fence_ipmi should be tried instead. Normally the IPMI BIOS for the ilo2mp card is not active by default and needs to be activated. Please verify with the vendor hardware documentation on how to activate IPMI on ilo2mp, if available.
