Issue:
Do any of the WaveLAN ISA adapters work with Red Hat Enterprise Linux 3?
Resolution:
The WaveLAN ISA adapters use the "wavelan" module. This module is included in the Linux kernel and has been known to work with the following adapters:

Wavelan ISA 915 MHz (full length ISA card)
Wavelan ISA 915 MHz 2.0 (half length ISA card)
Wavelan ISA 2.4 GHz (full length ISA card, fixed frequency)
Wavelan ISA 2.4 GHz 2.0 (half length ISA card, frequency selectable)
Above cards with the optional DES encryption feature

Red Hat includes this module with it's kernel-unsupported package. This package contains extra modules for those drivers which are present in the upstream kernel, but have not been tested by Red Hat. These drivers are provided as a courtesy and are not officially supported by Red Hat.

You can obtain the kernel-unsupported package by downloading the RPM from Red Hat Network or by running up2date kernel-unsupported for a system registered with RHN from a command line.
