Issue:
Red Hat Enterprise Linux 3 WS did not recognize my Actiontec DataLink V.90 56K PCMCIA modem. Is there a driver available for this device?
Resolution:
The Actiontec DataLink V.90 56K PCMCIA modem uses the serial_cs.o kernel module and requires no additional configuration other than being plugged in to the PCMCIA socket.

If the modem is not immediately recognized, you can load the module using the following command as the root user:
modprobe serial_cs
The modem will be visible as /dev/ttyS1. You can then configure your modem using the instructions in Chapter 19 of the Red Hat Enterprise Linux 3: System Administration Guide.
