Issue:
I just created a new channel on my RHN Satellite server and wanted to upload a custom MySQL package. Attempting to push that package to that channel resulted to an error saying that the "...package has been recompiled...". Why?
Resolution:
The most likely reason is that there is already a package on the RHN Satellite Server with the package name mysql-server. You cannot have duplicate package names even on separate channels, within the same Base channel. You will have to rename the package in order to use it in the same Base channel.

For additional assistance on how to add custom packages to your RHN Satellite Server, please see other documentation in the Knowledgebase that describes the process in further details. Also, Chapter 3. Building Custom Packages and Chapter 4. Custom Channel and Package Management in theChannel Management Guide can assist you as well.
