Issue:
How do I update the Red Hat Cluster Suite software?
Resolution:

Make sure that the cluster nodes are subscribed to the cluster suite channel. To check this follow these steps:

  1. Go to Red Hat Network (RHN) in your web browser.
  2. Select Systems in the red bar on top.
  3. Click on the system profile name for the correct system.
  4. Check the section Channel Subscriptions on the top right.
  5. If the system is not subscribed to the cluster channel:
    1. Click on Alter Channel Subscriptions
    2. Select the Red Hat Cluster Suite channel.
    3. Press Change Subscriptions

Verify the channel list in a terminal and then update the cluster system packages (in this example it is the rhel-i386-as-4-cluster channel):

up2date --nox --show-channels
up2date --channel rhel-i386-as-4-cluster --update
up2date --channel rhel-i386-as-4-cluster --force --update

Note: It is strongly recommended that this is initially done on a test environment.
