Issue:
Is there an automatic way to fix RPM installations that have many dependencies?
Resolution:
The up2date utility will automatically solve dependencies for packages being installed. If you have access to Red Hat Network (RHN) you can use the up2date utility to update or download & install RPM packages. From any RHN registered system, the following command:
up2date <package name>
will connect to RHN, automatically download, and install the package you specify (if it is available for your registered channel). If there are dependencies or if the package you are trying to install requires other RPM packages, they should automatically be downloaded and installed as well.
