Issue:
How do I add my system to the Extras channel in Red Hat Network (RHN)?
Resolution:
The Extras channel is a child channel under your base channel on Red Hat Network (RHN).

This channel includes "extra" software and other packages that do not come with the standard Red Hat Enterprise Linux distribution. These packages are useful and sometimes required for specific applications. For example, some packages included on the extras channel are the Java™ Virtual Machine and the Adobe Acrobat™ Reader plug-in for Mozilla.

To add your system to the Extras channel:
  1. Log on to the Red Hat Network (RHN).
  2. Select the "Systems" tab on the top of the page
  3. Select the system that you would like to add the Extras channel to, by clicking the name of the system (link).
  4. Click on "Alter Channel Subscriptions" in the "Subscribed Channels" section at the top right.
  5. Select the Extras channel and then click on the "Change Subscription" button.
