Issue:
Why am I suddenly seeing Channels for AMD64/EM64T, iSeries and pSeries, and Itanium on my Red Hat Network (RHN) account?
Resolution:

On Tuesday February 1, 2005 Red Hat Network (RHN) made changes to the structure of the Red Hat Enterprise Linux channels, giving all customers significantly greater choice in processor architectures by combining access to 32-bit and 64-bit architectures under a single subscription.

As such, if you previously only had access to the x86/i386 architecture for Enterprise Linux you will now have access to subscribe systems to the Itanium and AMD64/Intel EM64T channels using that same subscription. To see a full listing of Channels available within your RHN account, log into your RHN account at https://rhn.redhat.com/ and then:

  • Click the Channels tab
  • Click All (under Software Channels) on the left navigation bar
