Issue:
Can a Software RAID device (md device) be used interchangebly between IA 32 and Itanium systems?
Resolution:
Current Red Hat Enterprise Linux releases (2.1 & 3) do not support this feature due to different superblock checksum algorithm between IA32 and Itanium systems.

A patch has been submitted into the upstream kernel and may be considered for future releases.
