Issue:
Is it possible to install iBCS2 on Red Hat Enterprise Linux 3?
Resolution:

Unfortunately the Intel Binary Compatibility Specification 2 (iBCS2) code is not compatible with the extensions in the Red Hat Enterprise Linux 3 kernel. Extensions such as NPTL (Native POSIX Thread Library) support and the O(1) scheduler. These changes cannot be made to work with a reasonable effort and without significant stability risks in the iBCS2 codebase.

There is an article by Eric Youngdale in Linux Journal that provides additional details on iBCS2 under Linux, however, it does not include details about installing iBCS2 under Linux, we are simply including the link for background information.
