Issue:
Why am I having trouble registering my Red Hat Enterprise Linux product?
Resolution:
Red Hat Enterprise entitlements are required for use with Red Hat Enterprise Linux.

A customer who registers a Red Hat Enterprise Linux system with Red Hat Network (RHN) without having any entitlements will receive an error message similar to:

"No public channels available for (2.1AS, i686)"

In order to register your system, you first need to activate your RHN Red Hat Enterprise Linux entitlement(s) at:

http://www.redhat.com/support

with the product ID is included in your purchase.

Note: If you purchased Red Hat Enterprise Linux directly from redhat.com, you do not need to register a product ID. Otherwise, use the product ID on the registration card that came with your Red Hat Enterprise Linux product.
