Issue:
Why do Apache-based httpd and/or Sendmail hang during startup?
Resolution:
If you are having trouble with the Apache-based
httpd service or Sendmail hanging at startup, this is because the host cannot resolve its hostname into an IP address. Make sure at least the following line is in the
/etc/ hosts file:
127.0.0.1 localhost.localdomain localhost
