Issue:
Where are the previously provided kernel-unsupported packages found in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4?
Resolution:

Release Found: Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4

Symptom:
Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4 does not seem to have the kernel-unsupported packages. This package used to be able to support specific hardware that the regular kernel does not support.

Solution:
In the interest of maintainability, performance, and reliability, the decision to exclude the kernel-unsupported package(s) in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4 was made. The source code for the Kernel is freely available to the community and everyone is welcome to use it to build a custom kernel and/or modules. Red Hat Global Support Services, however, will not provide technical support in the compiling of this custom kernel nor any problems related to the running of a custom kernel or modules as stated in Red Hat's Service Level Agreements at https://www.redhat.com/support/service/sla/.
