Issue:
Why do I get clock skew problems in the guest Operating System (OS) while running VMWare on Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4 64 bit?
Resolution:

Release found: Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4 64 bit

Resolution:
This issue is specific to Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4 64 bit as a host OS and Red Hat Enterprise Linux 2.1, Red Hat Enterprise Linux 3 or Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4 as the guest OS.

Sometimes the difference in the time is too big for ntpd to correct. To correct it, edit the guest operating system's .vmx file and append the line below:

tools.syncTime="TRUE"
