Issue:
How can I get timezone updates for java packages in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 3 and 4?
Resolution:

Solution:

The recommended method for timezone updates in java is to update these packages from Red Hat Network (RHN), and update the package with up2date. This will update the appropriate timezone data, as well as the security and bug fixes. Alternatively, the following 3rd party utilities can be used for timezone updates

IBM Time Zone Update Utility for Java: http://kbase.redhat.com/faq/FAQ_85_9864

Sun Java SE TZupdater Tool:
http://java.sun.com/javase/tzupdater_README.html

Note: At the time of writing of this article, Sun Java is not available through RHN. The information provided is for those who have downloaded this package from the 3rd party web site.
